Flight of the Conchords

Although I didn't get a chance to see these two when they were in Seattle last weekend (tickets were sold out when I even first heard of the show), I am a big fan of the Flight of the Conchords. Flight of the Conchords is Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, a comedic folk duo from New Zealand. I first heard of these guys because I knew of Jemaine Clement because he had the one of the leading roles in one of my favorite movies, Tongan Ninja. When I heard he was in a comedy folk band, I was already interested. When I heard a few of their songs, I was laughing like crazy and couldn't wait to play them for my friends, especially those who had enjoyed Tongan Ninja (for the instant recognition and similar humor styles). They are really on the move up becoming more recognized and have even gotten their own show on HBO now, just called The Flight of the Conchords, that just started about a month ago. They are definitely worth listening to and their show is good for some laughs.

I love them too. I'm trying desperately to get my hands on a copy of 'Tongan Ninja', but it's tough going. May have to go the Amazon route.

It's a fantastic movie! I can't remember where I got the copy that I have, but I think my cousin actually sent it over from NZ.

Perhaps you can confirm for me...I've heard that on the DVD there is a cast commentary. Is Jemaine in the commentary too?

Jemaine is in the commentary. Between him and David Fane in the commentary, it's hilarious and almost as good in itself. Also, there's a "Making of the Movie" bit on there that's great as well! This is one disc I actually watched all the additional features of. Definitely pick it up if you can find it. I actually remember that a friend of mine was able to get a copy of it on either Netflix or Blockbuster's version of Netflix, so if you just want to rent it, you might try looking on one of those sites if you have a membership.

Thank you, I am in the process of talking my husband into getting a Netflix account, so now I'll just push that much harder.
